Mention
The Olive Tree Museum was a successful candidate in the review, sponsored by the Council of Europe, for the granting of the 1993 Museum of the Year Award.
The jury of the European Museum of the Year Award for 1993 chose the Olive Tree Museum for a Special Mention as "... an example of how enterprise can be committed to culture ... and act as a stimulus for all cultural life in Italy, public and privately sponsored."

The Award Ceremony
Richard Hoggart, Chairman of the Board for the European Museum of the Year Award, presents the Special Mention citation to Mr. Carlo Carli, Director of the Olive Tree Museum and Chairman of the Fratelli Carli Corporation, during the 1993 EMYA Annual Ceremony, at the Castle of the Dukes of Braganza, the official residence of the President of Portugal. |
